S.R. # 4

Week 3 is progressing at a rapid pace. I spent four hours on Monday reading about 75 pages of material from the Old Testament textbook we have. The readings were very rich in content and included the structure, genre, and content of the books of the Torah, beside Genesis (which we studied last week). Later today and tomorrow, I'll post my impressions from these readings on the discussion board. Some of my classmates are already doing so. Also, in Old Testament studies this week, I plan on finishing the book, "Making sense of the Old Testament". The professor wants us to complete a book review of this by the end of next week. Also, due in this class this week is a closed book quiz of the geography of the ancient Near East, which is due to be turned in by this weekend.

In the church history class this week, the readings are from Chapter 3 in the main textbook. The subject is the Council of Chalcedon in 451 A.D. It was one of four noteworthy councils of that age where a lot of Christological doctrines were formed which we still incorporate in church today. I chose to do a powerpoint concerning this topic this week. I am not that proficient at powerpoint so it took over five hours of work yesterday to put it together. I might stick to writing a reflection paper next week. Also in this class this week, we have online discussions of the week's topics.

That's it for this report.

Have a blessed day!
