Prayers and best wishes for Pope Francis I.

Pope Francis I

While reading some news articles and comments today about the new Pope being elected, I came across several negative articles about problems in the church. These comments were so typically anti-church and they all brought out what is wrong with the Catholic church. Whenever I run across these types of anti-church sentiments, I just keep in mind a simple analogy.

Remember, the Church is the bride of Christ. Have you ever met a perfect bride? No, and you never will. Bizarre practices? Perhaps they have some. Imperfect members? Yep. But this is very important to remember: Jesus Christ gave his life for his bride. He must love "her" dearly, right? The Bible says that one day Jesus will return to this earth to take his bride home. By his side, today's imperfect bride will be a beautiful, perfect bride, made up of people who found forgiveness and healing by trusting in him to save them and restore them into a right relationship with him.

My prayers and encouragement go out for Pope Francis I, who has been elected to oversee a large group of members of the Bride of Christ. Happy Easter and Peace to all..

Blessings,
George
